There are many choices for facial cleansers on the market. Each of them promising something different. How do you know which ones live up to their promises? I have chosen three of my favorites to share with you.

How do you choose the right facial cleanser for you? The purpose of a facial cleanser is to clean your face right? So how can there be a difference if they all do the same thing? Each cleanser mentioned in this post is used differently even though they’re all cleansers.
When picking a facial cleanser it’s important to find one that meets your needs. Do you need to find a cleanser that is for sensitive skin? Do you want an exfoliant facial cleanser? Do you want a deep cleaning cleanser? Are you looking for something for acne? Is the cleanser good to use with Clarisonic or similar devices?
Even though all the cleansers are made for the face not all of them will be right for you. So it’s important to find one that will fit your skin’s needs.
I have tried tons of different facial cleansers and for one reason or another, they just weren’t for me. It took me a long time to find cleansers that not only worked for me but they helped improve my skin. What more can a girl ask for?
Each one is used independently from the rest. No need to use all three of them at a time. They each serve a different purpose depending on the circumstances but I’ll get into more detail later. Let’s jump into the first product, shall we?
Simple Cleansing Wipes are great for traveling. The packages contain enough wipes for a vacation but aren’t bulky in size. The wipes are great for sensitive skin and do a great job removing oil or any residue from the skin. They leave your skin feeling refreshed and feeling clean. It’s a great product to use for your morning skin routine. The wipes stay moisturized even after the package has been opened for several months. (That’s what happens when you open it for one trip, forget about it, and try using it during your next trip several months later).
I will say if you’re trying to remove a face full of makeup it may not be the product for you. I’ve tried removing a face full of makeup after a long day and it does remove the makeup. However, I just didn’t feel like my face was deep cleaned. If you’re looking for something quick to remove your makeup this will work. I prefer a little deeper cleaning when removing makeup. I’ve found the morning is my favorite time to use this product.
It will not cause any stinging or irritation of the skin. A huge plus if you have sensitive skin.
I love this facial cleanser. This cleanser is great to use with Clarisonic type devices because it lathers up beautifully enabling you to get a deep facial cleaning. The facial cleanser is not only a cleanser but it’s also an exfoliator and is full of antioxidants.
When I want to thoroughly clean my skin I reach for my Trader Joe’s all-in-one cleanser and my Conair Facial Brush. The cleanser foams up and really cleanses my skin. It’s not harsh, doesn’t irritate my skin (which is pretty sensitive), doesn’t cause any burning, stinging or redness. My skin always feels so clean and refreshed after using this product!
The other great feature about this product is it’s not tested on animals! I really appreciate that about Trader Joe’s products. I always know that when I check the label on their beauty products I can find the cruelty-free and no animal testing clearly printed on their labels.
As I have mentioned before I have sensitive skin. So it’s hard finding products that not only address my sensitive skin but also helps with my combination skin. I wanted something that would help with my oily areas but not dry out my drier areas. I know it’s a lot to expect out of one product but this product does all that and more!
I have found that using Garnier’s micellar cleansing water every morning when I wake up and every night before I go to bed (if I’m not cleaning off a face full of makeup) my skin appears brighter and more even than it ever has before. Is it a miracle worker? No, but it’s pretty darn amazing.
I use a cotton pad to apply the micellar water to my face. After using the pad, it looks like it’s a little magnet that’s sucked all the dirt and oil to it. The micellar water is pretty amazing because it grabs onto the dirt and traps it on the pad. It doesn’t dry out my skin at all. It leaves my skin with a clean, healthy glow. It has also done wonders for evening out my skin tone too. It’s safe to use multiple times daily without stripping your skin of the necessary oils to keep it from drying out.
The micellar cleanser is oil, fragrance and alcohol-free which is perfect for sensitive skin. There is also a waterproof version that removes waterproof makeup and there is a mattifying version for oily skin.
The great part of all these facial cleansers is that they are affordable and readily available. You can purchase the micellar water and the wipes at any drugstore or major retailer. If you’re lucky enough to live near a Trader Joe’s you can find the all-in-one facial cleanser in the beauty section (usually near the vitamins).

It’s that time of year again-back to school is right around the corner. I’m kicking off a four part series helping parents prepare their children for back to school. I’ll be giving a run down on what you need to know before beginning your back to school shopping, the best stores to shop at, the best ways to save money while shopping, and the items that should be on your back to school list.
As I kick off this series with what you need to know before beginning your back to school shopping, my goal is to make this time of year less stressful for parents.
Back to school brings about mixed feelings. Some will be glad to have the kids back in school while others may be feeling a bit anxious since their little ones are going to school for the first time, as well as others have kids that are dreading the first day of school. All the feelings are normal but with a few tips back to school shopping could make going back to school not as dreadful and even become a fun experience.
Whether you have children attending school for the first time, kids entering another year in school or you have kids going off to college it can be a stressful time for parents and kids alike. Shopping for back to school supplies should not be one of the stresses you have to deal with.
The ads can be your friend not only during the back to school sales but throughout the year. It will make it easier to create a game plan when on the hunt for certain items for school. If you don’t get a weekly paper that’s not a problem, jump online and take a look at each store’s ad. The stores may have the same item on sale but at different prices. (Check out the next part in my series which focuses on the best stores to shop at during the back to school sales).
One way to assure that you purchase all the items you need to buy for the first day of school is to make a list. This should be the master list for all your kids so you don’t have to worry about forgetting anything. If you’re like me a good old pen and paper are my preference for making lists but there are some great apps that can make your life much easier. A few suggestions would be Wunderlist (Android and iOS) and Remember the Milk (Android and iOS).
If you want to get the best deals grab them as you find them. Once you have a list of the items your child needs for the first day of school then you can purchase the items when the best deals become available. If the price is good, grab it!
My best suggestion is, have an idea of what the back to school items cost. Just because an item is advertised as a sale price doesn’t mean that it’s a good price. You can avoid overpaying on any item if you have an idea of what the base price is prior to shopping the sales. I have seen many “sale” prices at one store but when compared to the regular price at another store it’s still more expensive. If you’re looking for deals, then know your prices prior to shopping.
If time is tight for you then keep an eye out for store pickup options. More stores are offering in-store pickup such as Office Depot/Max but be aware that not all stores will include their great sale items for pickup. I have noticed some stores such as Target and Walmart will have sale prices available for both in-store and online shoppers. Utilize the store pickup when available and that will save you time.
Build up excitement with your kids about shopping for brand new school supplies. If you create fun anticipation, your kids will be excited about picking out new items for school. Include your kids in making the list so they feel like they have some control over what they will be using in the fall. Perhaps even have your child make a list of items they would like to have when school starts. Talking to your children about the fun you’re going to have shopping together for new school supplies will help make the preparation for school a little less dreadful. Planning a special treat when your shopping is complete will also help bring excitement to getting ready to head to school.
The better prepared you are before you begin your back to school shopping the easier the shopping experiences will be for both you and your kids. If you have kids that are excited about heading back to school then being prepared will bring even more excitement for them. Getting ready for school doesn’t have to be stressful it can actually be a very fun experience.
