Does the Vitamin C Microdermabrasion Really Perk Up Your Skin?

Vitamin C anyone? Experts always say that Vitamin C is essential to your health but who would have thought that there was a Vitamin C skin care line. I was searching for a gentle exfoliant while at The Body Shop. They have several different products to use as an exfoliant. I was recommended to try this version, Vitamin C. The Vitamin C helps to perk up the skin to give it a natural glow. I thought why not try this particular one since it was an exfoliant and the Vitamin C should help provide a natural glow.

I was told that even though I have sensitive skin, this product would be gentle enough to use without causing any irritation. I was very curious about how effective this product would be since I was told it’s an exfoliant, provides a natural glow and is gentle on sensitive skin.

The cream has a lot of mini pieces of grit in it to gently exfoliate. It’s a very fine grit unlike most body exfoliants that have the thicker, larger grit. The fine grit, sand-like in substance, is dominant in the cream. Since the grit is very fine it easily spreads across the skin.

It is gentle enough on my skin where it doesn’t irritate it or make it red but it does a great job at getting rid of all the dead skin. I tend to use this prior to applying sunless tanner and it really helps to provide a clean surface for the tanner to be even and not splotchy.

I apply a small amount of the product in a gentle circular motion to my face and then rinse it off leaving my skin instantly feeling fresh and free from all the dead, dull skin.

I can’t really say that it leaves my skin with a glow as the salesperson had stated but it does a nice job of exfoliating my skin without any irritation.

I would suggest that if you are considering purchasing this product, wait for a sale since one of the tubes can be a bit pricey ($23 for 2.5 fl oz). I purchased it during one of their buy 3 get 3 free sales and was quite happy.

Note: The packaging has had a makeover and now includes 3.3 fl oz for $23 so the item pictured above won’t look like the ones you’ll find currently in the stores or online at The Body Shop.
